The
1933 Ford Pickup with a homemade oak bed before the project begins. |
 |
The
x-member is pretty well hacked up so we decided to replace it. |
 |
Here
is Craig making the frame modifications and making ready for the new
x-member. |
 |
The
cab needs a little TLC to get the lines right. |
 |
After
the oak dash was removed, we can see that the wiring needs to be refreshed. |
 |
We
removed everything from under the dash area and started to test fit
the new dash panel. |
 |
We
will fabricate an upper and lower panel for the dash to give is a
custom look. |
 |
The
firewall is from Bitchin Products, but is riddled with holes that
we will correct. |
 |
We
welded up all of the holes that were not needed and scuffed it up
with the DA. |
 |
We
cut a sheet of stainless to attach to the lower firewall. We still
need to cut for the trans tunnel, steering column and booster. Once
all is cut out, we will wet sand and polish. |
 |
The
truck body finally arrived from Mac's Antique Auto Parts. |
 |
The
bed looks exact in every detail! |
 |
We
will more than likely modenize the tailgate latches. These are notorious
for chipping paint. |
 |
This
is a shot of the new X-Member welded into place. |
 |
We
can't wait to see it with fenders and running boards. |
 |
We
need to do a little more work on the frame and then we can bolt the
body and cab to the frame. Once this is done, we will fit the fenders
and running boards. |
 |
We
are making an overhead console to house the radio and some storage
areas. |
